(With English Translation)

Ae hawae, use mera paigam pahucha dena

Ae hawae, use mera paigam pahucha dena,
Aaj sham use chukar jab tum guzro,
Uske baal zara meri or se sehla dena..
Uske kandhe jo boj see ho dabe,
Unhe zara meri aur se halka kar dena..

Ae hawae, use mera paigam pahucha dena,
Aaj raat use jo nind nahi aaye,
Uske sar ko meri aur se thap thapa dena,
Saloni chandni bankar meri aur se use behla dena,
Maddham saaz bankar Uske kaano ko sula dena,
Ban kar kali, Uske hoto par yun khilna,
Gam sare, uske bhula dena..

Ae hawae, use mera paigam pahucha dena,
Thandi hawa ka zoka ban ke use shama dena.
Aur meri yaad me gar wo aansu bahae,
Ban kar baarish ki bund, Unhe tum thama dena..

O winds, carry my message to him please !

O winds, carry my message to him please !
When you touch him as you flow,
His hair, oh just so gently tease,
If he’s brought down by troubles,
Ease that weight on his shoulders on my behalf..

O winds, carry my message please !
If he’s had a sleepless night,
Caress his forehead as you pass,
Beguile him like a full moon’s light,
Sing a lullaby softly so,
He sleeps and his dreams are pleasant, bright,
And he forgets all his sorrows, however slight..

O winds, carry my message please !
Wake him gently with the morning sun,
If sweat forms on his brow, o breeze,
Soothe it by breathing cool wind,
If he cries at our sweet memories,
Then rain to mask that pained release !

      • I am fine thank you just so busy gardening as John and I are self employed gardeners and so busy working in between heavy rain. When not working there is plenty of housework to keep up with. I will try and keep connected the best I can…and try and add a new post very soon. Family are all well, my son has gone down to London to stay with his 2 sisters for a week. His 3rd oldest sister will drop by to visit. ❤️ You are most welcome my friend and all encouragement and praise is so well deserved! 4. this poem is fantastic… you write beautifully in hindi… 🙂
Your this poem reminded me one of the old song from the movie “Jab Yaad Kisi ki Ati Hai” sung by Mahendra Kapoor and composed by Madan Mohan… the lines of the song was like this:
” Ari o shokh kaliyon muskura dena wo jab aye.
Suno phoolon mehak apni luta dena, wo jab aye…”

    very nice one… 🙂

  5. Wow. This is so amazing. Pyar ho to aisa. Hawa se hi ho baatein, hawa me hi ho mulaqaatein. Really, for the people who believe, love is in air. This poem is the proof. Wow. And the English translation by Himanshu is awesome. 🙂 Good work..

  6. Hi Himali

Weak as my Hindi is, I read that whole piece slowly and back again and then moved on to the English version! Beautifully crafted, I must say. It’s especially difficult to write poetry that captures the essence in two languages, so a ‘very well done’ to you!
