A few days back, during lunch time; I was listening to a wonderful TEDx talk about how we as humans have the natural tendency to look at the negatives and getting stuck in them. It was quite true and the speaker Miss Alison offered a simple technique on training to focus our mind on the positives in life – a gratitude journal or thinking of what made us happy that day !
Life is indeed cyclical and so are our days. During a day, we experience several highs and lows. I have tried to start a project for myself, where in I list down at least 5 things/ people/ incidents which made my day a “Happy” day and I’ve decided to call it “The Happyness Project (THP)”. Starting August 2nd, each day I will post a short synopsis of what made me happy that day and let the people behind that moment know that I treasure that moment. So, essentially; it is happyness, gratitude & thankfulness all practiced together. These posts will not be pinned to my blog home page but will be published under the menu “The Happyness Project”.
Today was a happy day, because :
- It was a weekend 😀 Lazy mornings and cuddling in blankets. Life is perfect !
Over the weekend, I had one conversation – which I shouldn’t have had. Patience is something I so need to cultivate. My over the top display of love can be intimidating at times, I guess 😀 Saying that I felt quite sad for my affection not being taken positively, would be quite an understatement. However, I had a few key people I could share how I felt and they have been so kind to listen to me and give their reassurances. Thank you – Vatsal, Jaya & Jazz 🙂 You guys rock my world and I loooove you 3 #mytrio
On Friday, our most auspicious festival – Paryushan – the festival of forgiveness & devotion – began for which I wrote a post for the first time. I am practicing forgiveness each day and it truly has made a difference in my life. I hope God also forgives me as I have forgiven the ones who have hurt me
I was fasting over the weekend and my brother – Vatsal took special care of me, to ensure I was well rested 🙂 Thank youuuuu brother ❤
Thank you Jazz for reminding me to Trust God and Do Good. Sometimes, we wander away from the path of God like a sheep who strays away from his Shepard. In those moments, God finds his way to bring us back. At times, he jolts our world to ensure that all that stays is all what is worth it. We need to let go off the unnecessary baggage to rise to greater heights.
