The Happyness Project – Aug 20th

Preface :

A few days back, during lunch time; I was listening to a wonderful TEDx talk about how we as humans have the natural tendency to look at the negatives and getting stuck in them. It was quite true and the speaker Miss Alison offered a simple technique on training to focus our mind on the positives in life – a gratitude journal or thinking of what made us happy that day !

Life is indeed cyclical and so are our days. During a day, we experience several highs and lows. I have tried to start a project for myself, where in I list down at least 5 things/ people/ incidents which made my day a “Happy” day and I’ve decided to call it “The Happyness Project (THP)”. Starting August 2nd, each day I will post a short synopsis of what made me happy that day and let the people behind that moment know that I treasure that moment. So, essentially; it is happyness, gratitude & thankfulness all practiced together. These posts will not be pinned to my blog home page but will be published under the menu “The Happyness Project”.

Today was a busy happy day, because :

  • Day began early morning (or read late night – as I couldn’t sleep) discussing dinner recipes (I taught how to make veg uttapams – healthy version with lost of vegetables – recipe shared below for the benefit of all)  #cherishedmoments
UttapamDH
Sooji = Semolina flour

Feel free to try my recipe and let me know how it works 🙂

  • To celebrate my 2 day fasting with food today, my brother Vatsal woke up at 5 am to make my favorite pohas for breakfast and also did basic preps for lunch so I could make it in half an hour. Not only that – he packed a dozen tiffin boxes for me to eat – breakfast, lunch, snacks and chocolate for dessert ! ❤ My heart melts with his affection. His future spouse would be so so lucky !

  • Beautiful songs added to my playlist which made my morning so blessed

  • This was my breakfast – apple juice, poha with namkeen sev & Kitkat 🙂

  • My lunch – favorite menu – chapati, chana, kadhi (gujurati daal made with buttermilk), namkeen

  • My dad shared a picture of my hometown clicked from our balcony while it was raining. Gosh ! I miss that beautiful and relaxed city

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India – as seen from my balcony on a rainy morning 🙂

  • Phone call with my friend which gave me a sort of action list for the coming few days. Thank you for bringing back focus and I felt so light discussing about stuff which other wise was so confusing. Much appreciate you taking out your time and all your help.

  • Evening study session – finally done with International Economics. Fin Mgt & COSO are next for the week #ICanIWill

  • Flipping through some old Viber Doodles in my gallery while commuting back home #MissThoseDoodles

  • Finding and posting pics of Rakshabandhan 2017 – home away from home. Thank u Hetal Bhabhi #myprecious ❤

  • The beautiful song and touching video of the song that’s playing in the background now  – Jode Rejo Raaj by singer Falguni Pathak

  • Thank you, little angel Rahi for your cuteness and innocence around us

  • Shopping chocolates & candies (2kg – LOL 😛 ) & presents 🙂

  • Walking, chatting, shopping and laugher session over the candies I bought with Vatsal. I was laughing so hard that after coming home I was drinking water and he made some silly comment and I snorted water right out ! 😀 It was that insane

  • Welcome back to the town – Jaya, I so missed u and thanks a lot for the call ❤

  • #latenightblogging 12:48 AM

  • Long list today – thank you God !

  1. Wow!
It takes quite an attitude of gratitude to note details of a day’s event to this magnitude.
The meals, the pictures, the chats, the calls… Even thinking of your brother’s future spouse?
    That’s so lovely!
Keep it up with the gratitude.
