I shall be your friend, always…

two-kids-friendship

If you and I both are hungry
And we have just a piece of bread to share,

I’d pass the piece, to you…
As I’d be satiated to the brim,
Just watching you with delight…

If you and I both were exhausted
And we had just 1 warm blanket,
I’d tuck you to bed with a goodnight kiss…
And envelope you with the warmth
Watching you sleep so blissful,
Would be my treasure to behold…

All this and so much more
I’d love to do for you
Not just because I can,
Much more because I want to…
To watch your lips curl up in a smile
For the joy that transcends to my heart…

I only wish that someday
And someday only when you can,
When I wish you to be by my side
To just flash your beaming smile,
When I feel battered down by life
I find your fingers intertwined with mine…

Even when I’d find you missing,
When I wanted you the most,
My sadness would be disguised
With twinkling eyes and laughter…
You wouldn’t see any difference
Because once I love you,
I’d just keep loving you, unconditionally…

When the going gets tough,
When the tides get rough,
When we lose our way in darkness,
You will find me by your side…
I may not be your lover or your muse,
I shall be your friend, always…
