If you aren’t grateful for what you already have,
What makes you think you would be happy with more…
Ever woke up to a morning, feeling unimportant – by the people very close to your heart? I couldn’t find the right word to articulate this feeling since long until someone dropped this word in a casual conversation and it struck a chord in my heart. Unimportant. Life gets busy, people get busier as priorities change. When you’re at the giving end of things, you can’t resonate when someone tells you this. BUT, being at the receiving end is so hard! Neither can you cry and complain, nor can you just ignore this feeling. What do you do? Do you let yourself feel sad and low? Do you express? Do you just let it be? Do you talk to someone else? Do you just distract yourself? What do you do???
Someone said to me:
“This is the journey of life. It won’t end with the same people with whom you started the journey… It’s fair because this is the beauty of this world. if one person leaves your life, you will meet someone new. Explore the world”
Hmmmmm… It makes sense, doesn’t it? We’re so afraid of the void – the void of grief and absence, thinking it will never be the same, it will never be filled with happyness again.
All this time, forgetting what and who we already have. The blessings life has bestowed so generously. The people who love us, make us smile and laugh. The beauty of nature around us. The meals we enjoy and the beautiful company we get to have them with.
Today, I whisper a prayer. My favorite one.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life. Amen
Cheers! To this beautiful life, and the people around us, who are the butterflies and flowers to the garden of our life. ❤
