“Love is a feeling, not a relationship. Feel it.”
A friend gifted me this book with small messages (handwritten) on random pages. This (above) message was on one of the pages, I found it lovely! 💖

William Shakespeare has very beautifully described love in Sonnet 116:
“… Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.”
Love is a feeling, a very profound emotion for another person – which reminds you that imperfection is beautiful. In my opinion, the truest test of love is if you really want to protect the person you love, from all harm and danger – including yourself?
If you are willing to lay your life, for the one you love?
If what matters to them, becomes important to you too?
If you can forgive them, without an apology?
If you can understand their heart, without an explanation?
Love is wanting happiness for your beloved. Having their best interest at heart. Being their friend, supporter, and critic, if needed.
Love is also being able to let go of your beloved if you know their happiness lies elsewhere. That is the biggest test of love.
To be able to love is a huge blessing! Unlike what movies tell us, love may or may not be forever being with our beloved. Sometimes it is just for a few moments! Find your happiness and let go of expectations and attachment 🙂
“The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves—say rather, loved in spite of ourselves.”
I loved a song which beautifully describes love….
