An Open Letter To Myself . . .

Dear you,

Sub.: Letting go

I know it’s hard. I know you want to hold the sand in your fist, a bit longer. But the harder you’re trying to hold on it to, the quicker it’s flowing away; isn’t it ? Letting go is hard, to put it as the very least. There’s pain and agony which is directly related to the affection and the connection you share with the person or the thing you are about to let go.

My Newest Pal

Hey friends, say hello to my newest friend. It is one of the best gifts I have ever received. It is a Gulmohar plant planted on my behalf on World Environment Day by a dear friend of mine. I named the Gulmohar plant after my nick name Chinky. 🙂

Isn’t she so adorable ? I hope one day she grows up to be a lovely shady tree spreading around a lot of warmth and love. I have a special fondness towards plants and I believe there is so much to learn from them. They give so selflessly without expecting anything in return. They take in the carbon dioxide and breathe out fresh air. They take away our worries and irks and greet us with shelter and shade when life is shining too bright at us. One of my ideas of a Dream house is that it should be having a huge garden where I can plant my favorite flowers and trees and spend some time every morning talking to them (Oh yes, they do listen and they do respond. I have read online about green thumbing.).

Oh Mother, What would I do without You ?

Mom & Me <3
Mom & Me ❤

Mothers are God’s angels from heaven. Their love is unconditional. They are our first teachers, first friends, first role models.

Today, on Mother’s day, I am 530 kilometres away from my family to be precise. And seeing pictures of everyone on Facebook with their mom’s, makes me miss home way too much. Mom, I really miss you and love you lots !!

A small poem dedicated to all the beautiful mother’s around the world :

After nine months of excruciating pain,
You welcomed me to the world, with a smile on your face.

With tears of joy, you held me close to your heart,
Oh mother, without you I would have been only a dream.

Turn off the Music, Please

P.S.: This is a little lengthy post. Kind of a short story. Please read till the very end 🙂

At times, some things we usually do, sink deep within us, without even our realization. And then they become an integral part of our daily lives. I like listening to music and love going on shopping sprees, especially on “Deal Days” (as I call it 😉 ). Just a mile away from my office, there is a mini supermarket; I’d go at least once a week. While leaving from work, I would tune into my ear phones and put some loud music and head out shopping. I would be there, but I wouldn’t be there. Physically, I would be in a store; mentally, I would be lost in some thoughts or be pondering over the lyrics of the song, I love listening to so much. Since I stay close by, I would often walk to my office or walk back home in evening. Listening to music or talking over the phone on my way is always implied.
